Howto: Reset Windows XP/Vista Administrator Password

Disclaimer: The author assume no responsibility to whatever loss caused on following this guide, proceed at your own risk.
If you happened to forgot your password then you need not to worry as it can be recovered in two ways, the easy way and the the not-so-easy way.
First, the easy way. If theres another administrator account in the system then you can use that account to reset the forgotten password account by simply going to the control panel then user accounts, select the account you want to reset the password and click set/change password then enter the new passwords and apply.
Second, the not-so-easy way. This method will not going to work on encrypted drives or encrypted filesystem such as drives protected by BitLocker Drive Encryption software. We will be using Trinity Rescue Kit on this method, you can download the Rescue Kit here and burn the image to a blank cd/dvd.
Boot your computer using the Trinity Rescue Kit cd and at the prompt, type.
winpass -u username
Where username is the user you want to reset the password, it will then start searching your hard drive for windows installations and select the windows installation when asked to choose one. You will then be prompted with the new password, type your new passwords or enter * (asterisk) for blank password and confirm the password change.
Restart your computer and login using your new password.
