How to update IPS Signature on Linksys RV4000 VPN Router

If you own a Linksys RV4000 VPN router with IPS (Intrusion Protection System) enabled then you should know or already know that it is very important that you keep your IPS signature updated, so that your Linksys RV4000 VPN router will be able to detect new internet threats.
This guide will walk you through on how to update your Linksys RV4000 VPN router’s IPS signature.
1. Download the latest IPS signature from Linksys support site only to avoid malicious alterations of the signature file. you can download the latest IPS signature here
2. After download the latest IPS signature file, login to your Linksys RV4000 VPN router’s setup or admin page.

3. Once logged in, click on IPS tab and you should be able to see the Signature update section.

4. To update, click on Browse button and select the IPS signature file you’ve just downloaded and click on the Update button. The router should start the update immediately.

5. To verify that you have successfully updated your router’s IPS signature, click on the Information, you should be able to see the new IPS signature version.

Hi,
I appreciate your taking the time to help us. When I click the link to download the signature update it takes me to Cisco’s home page.
I know this is not your fault, it’s Cisco’s, but I have spent 30 minutes on their website trying to find where to download the IPS Signature to no avail.
If you could provide more guidance on where to find the download it would be a real blessing.
